As part of the implementation of measures aimed at disseminating the ideas of patriotism, cultural values, strengthening the friendship of nations, spiritual unity and interethnic harmony, improving the skills of fluent communication in a foreign language, for the first time the Speaking club was organized in the Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages at the Faculty of International Relations, Law and Business. The idea of creating Speaking clubs on the basis of the Department of Professional Foreign Languages of International Interaction was initiated by the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations, Law and Business, Professor N.A. Kudaibergenov. The participants of the Speaking club were both local and foreign students of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd year, studying on the EP “6B03101 – International Relations”, “6B04202 – International Law”, “6B04101 –International Business”, “6B04201 – Jurisprudence”, as well as the students who had arrived under the academic mobility program.
A total of 6 speaking clubs were organized under the supervision of Associate Professor G.B. Noruzova. The subject matters brought up for discussion by the club participants varied in content and covered topics related to the national culture of the nations of the world. The supervisors of the clubs were: A.M. Karakulova– Assistant Processor of the Chair of Professional Foreign Language of International Interaction, senior teachers D.A.Alimbaeva, B.B. Duisengazieva, A.A. Serzhanova, K.T. Tuleshova, M.K.Dzhunusbaeva.
In order to assess the level of masteryof intercultural communicative competence of students in the foreign language, their skills of fluent communication and public speaking, on April 25, 2024, teachers of the Department of Professional Foreign Language of International Interaction organized and held the competition “Best Expert in World Culture” among the participants of the Speaking clubs, dedicated to Kazakhstan People’s Unity Day.
The jury included: T.V. Serezhkina – Vice-Rector for Youth Policy, Zh.T. Zhyltyrova – Vice-Rector for International Relations, M.K. Akhmetova– Head of the Postgraduate Education Department, Zh.S. Sembaeva– Head of the Department of International Relations, G.B. Noruzova– Head of the Professional Foreign Language of International Interaction.
The participants of the competition who showed the best results in terms of language proficiency (correct pronunciation, high lexical diversity, appropriate use of simple and complex grammatical structures) good skills of oral speech and rhetoricgot prize-winning places and were awarded I-, II-, and III-degree diplomas and nominations.

The “Best Expert in World Culture” competition was a wonderful and exciting experience for the students, serving as a bridge between different teams, whose participants were representatives of different ethnic groups. The students and teachers received a lot of positive emotions, a boost of energy and a good mood!
