Confucius Institute at KazUIR and WL named after Abylai Khan celebrated the birthday of Confucius

On September 27, 2023, an event dedicated to the Day of Confucius Institutes, which is celebrated annually on the occasion of Confucius’s birthday, was held at the KazUIR and WL named after Abylai Khan.

More than 50 students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies took part in the event. During the event, master classes on Chinese calligraphy and paper cutting were held for students. Professor Shi Longwei gave a lecture on "Overview of China's World Heritage." Chen Jie, a teacher at Southwest University in China, taught students how to cut paper patterns remotely. The lecture “Chinese calligraphy” was given by senior teacher S.A. Sabigazina.

The official part of the event was attended by the  Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies - E.M. Kagazbaeva and Head of the Department of Translation of Oriental Languages - R.B. Dzheldibaeva.

This event gave students studying Chinese the opportunity to become more familiar with Chinese national culture. Teachers of the department Adilali Zh., Nurzhaubek A., Ashimbaeva A. took an active part in this event.
