Presentation of the «Turn-It-Around: Central Asian Deck of Climate Cards» contest

On February 18, 2025, the presentation of the competition within the framework of the «Turn-It-Around: Central Asian deck of climate cards» project took place at the Kazakh Ablai Khan UIR&WL. The project is being implemented by the CAPS Unlock Central Asian Analytical Center in partnership with the UNESCO Regional Office in Almaty and the University of Arizona (USA).

The competition was presented by Marzhan Tajieva, Project Coordinator for Climate Education, and Saule Kalikova, Education Consultant for the CAPS Unlock Charitable Foundation, for students of the «Journalism» and «Foreign Philology» educational programs. The speakers discussed the impact of climate change on the daily lives of every citizen and stressed that every student can contribute to reducing the impact on the environment. The speakers also spoke about the importance of the «Turn-It-Around: Central Asian Deck of Climate Cards» competition for environmental protection and the conditions for participation in it. The aim of the contest is to create climate cards that highlight the importance of climate issues through the lens of art and text.

Students actively participated in the discussion and expressed their desire to participate in the competition, noting that this is a chance to demonstrate their knowledge and contribute to climate conservation.

Applications for the competition are accepted until February 28, 2025. To participate, you must submit your work by scanning a QR code.
