Meeting of students of the Arabic department with a famous Arabist from Japan (Tokyo) Ph.D. Akifumi Nomura, professor of Takushoku University (TU)

On March 14, 2025, a meeting of students of the Arabic department of 201 group  of the EP «Foreign Philology»,106 group of the EP «Translation Studies», and 324 group of the EP «Oriental Studies»  of the university with a famous Arabist from Japan (Tokyo), Ph.D. Akifumi Nomura, professor at Takushoku University (TU) was held at the Faculty of Oriental Studies.

The guest spoke about the process of teaching Arabic at the Japanese Takushoku University, which was founded in 1899, where 9,063 students study in various specialties. A kind of polylogue about the Arabic language and Arab culture took place. The event was attended by Vice-Rector for International Relations, d.p.s. Zhyltyrova Zh.T., Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, c.p.s., prof. Kagazbaeva E.M., Head of the Department of Eastern Philology, c.phil.s., professor Burkitbay G.Zh., c.phil.s., professor Yesenzhan D.A., master, senior teacher Amanzhol S.T., graduates and students of the Arabic Department. Such an interesting and significant meeting with the Japanese researcher-Arabist was organized by the teachers of the Department of Eastern Philology.

During the meeting, the guest shared his scientific interests, spoke about the importance of serious education in the modern digital age, and also answered questions from students and teachers. The participants showed genuine interest in the topics discussed and the guest from Tokyo herself, who freely and vividly expressed herself in purely literary Arabic with excellent Arabic pronunciation.
