On October 4, the Faculty of Translation and Philology conducted a successful event dedicated to International Translation Day. The celebration was held under the title of "Connecting Cultures: Translators in the 21st Century" emphasizing the importance of translators as bridges between cultures in the modern world.
The event began with a ceremonial speech by the Dean of the Faculty, Raigul Baktiyarova, who highlighted the role of translators in shaping global communication and knowledge exchange. The Dean expressed gratitude to all students and teachers who dedicated their lives to this important profession.
The key moment of the event was the speech of the invited guest, Temirlan Moltoev, a professional translator, commercial specialist of the Consulate General of South Korea, and development director of Alem translation LLP. Temirlan shared his rich experience and spoke about current opportunities and prospects that open up for young specialists. In addition, Moltoev T. gave students very valuable advice on professional development and inspired them to continue to improve their skills.
The attention of the guests and participants of the event was also attracted by the speech of the 2nd year student of the Faculty of Translation and Philology – Vasilenko Khainrike, who has been actively working in the field of translation for several years. She spoke about her professional achievements and gave useful recommendations to her fellow students on how to successfully start a career as a translator while still studying. Her speech evoked a special response from the audience, as it is an example of how young specialists can combine study and work.
The event program was filled with creative numbers. Students prepared humorous scenes from the life of translators, which caused many smiles and allowed the participants to look at the profession from a different angle. In addition, the guests of the event enjoyed musical and dance numbers, and also took part in interactive games.
The final word was given to the Head of the Department of Speech Practice of Foreign Languages - Kurkimbayeva Aizhan and the Vice-Dean of the Faculty - Zyryanov Vladislav, who thanked the invited guests, teachers and students for their active participation and expressed hope that such events will be conducted in the future, contributing to the strengthening of professional ties and exchange of experience.
The event became not only a holiday, but also an important platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience among students and practicing specialists in the field of translation.
