The Master's program in Journalism was opened at our university in 2007. The university trains specialists of a universal type who can carry out scientific research in the field of mass communication, as well as work in the newspaper, on radio, television and the Internet media.
The uniqueness of the educational program "Journalism" (scientific and pedagogical Master's degree), implemented at the university, is the training of highly qualified personnel for the mass media with in-depth knowledge of professional English, with additional qualifications as a consultant analyst in sociology and psychology of mass communication.

You can specialize in:
- organizing and conducting editorial sociological and psychological research of mass media means
- collecting, analyzing and processing of scientific, technical, natural science and general scientific information
- conducting scientific research work
- studying the psychological and social effects of mass media means
- analyzing sociologically the target audience of mass media means
- generalization and critical assessment of results of socio-psychological studies of topical problems of mass media received by domestic and foreign researchers
- analyzing and creating basic models of communicative activities of journalists
- effective conflict resolution in professional communication

The uniqueness of the educational program "Journalism" (profile direction), implemented at the Ablai Khan KazUIR&WL, consists in the training of specialists of a universal type with knowledge of professional English, who are able to carry out scientific research in the field of mass communication, as well as work in newspapers, radio, television and Internet media. Graduates of the profile master's degree will not only know the basics of fundamental sciences within the specialization and the main achievements and trends in the development of modern media space, but also possess innovative organizational, operational and information technologies, including methods of obtaining, processing and storing scientific information, be able to analyze socially significant problems and processes, develop strategies and tactics in the implementation of professional activities; and also have the skills to solve systemically holistic tasks in the field of mass communication.
Deep theoretical knowledge, practical professional training in the field of mass communication, knowledge of a foreign language obtained as a result of training will allow graduates to become competitive and in-demand specialists in the modern labor market, able to objectively and professionally cover events and contribute to the formation of democracy and freedom in society.
