Competitive advantages of the program

The Educational program (EP) "International Relations" is based on its own educational concept, focused on the modern world labor market, where there is a great demand for specialists who can easily and quickly switch between different tasks, who are able to think creatively and systematically at the same time.

The purpose of the EP in the specialty "6B03101 - International Relations": the formation of professionally oriented, professionally based and professionally identifying competencies in students in the specialties of political, economic and legal areas.  One of the main objectives of the program is to develop and introduce into the content of the scientific and educational process new modifications and specializations in demand by the labor market into existing curricula and professional programs that ensure the professional readiness of the graduate to work in the context of intersectoral content.

 In addition to the traditional history for this specialty, the theory of international relations, international security, as well as two foreign languages, students of the International Relations program comprehensively study a block of basic economic and legal disciplines.

The program is aimed at combining theoretical training with practical analytical activities.  In the fourth year of study, the program offers undergraduate practice in leading analytical centers, specialized departments of government bodies, major media outlets, and commercial structures engaged in international activities.  In addition, starting from the second year of study, all students are involved in project activities, which can be both research and practical - in the form of fulfilling various orders for third-party organizations.

Characteristics of professional activity and a list of professional competencies of a graduate

Graduates of the EP "International Relations" are prepared to carry out professional activities (related to international relations) in public authorities, expert-analytical and research structures, educational institutions and commercial companies.

Graduates at a professional level speak two foreign languages, the skills of systemic analysis of international processes, are able to apply modern data analysis technologies in the subject area of ​​international relations, and are also able to present the results of their activities at a high professional level.

Graduates of the EP "International Relations" are able to carry out research in the field of international and cross-border interaction, to assess global political and economic processes, based on modern approaches in the science of international relations.

Graduates have practical skills to perform tasks of various types, forms and levels of complexity in a limited time; have basic negotiating skills in a foreign language and cultural environment; have experience working on projects in small and medium groups.

 Characteristics of educational modules of the program

In the Major block, students study classical disciplines for the subject area of ​​international relations related to history, law, world politics, the theory of international relations, the relationship of world economic processes with political ones, and the role of information in the modern world.

At the professional level, the main foreign language is studied (French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Arabic, Japanese).  The study of English is built in a block relationship and is aimed at developing the communication skills of students, the ability to conduct a discussion on professional topics.

The Minor block provides for an additional specialization of the student outside the core of "International Relations", mainly in the form of four interrelated disciplines that give a basic idea of ​​​​a field of study different from the main one for the student, or in the form of 4 free courses.  For the study of Minor disciplines, an appropriate place is allocated in the curriculum within the framework of the 3rd and 4th years of study.

The Internship block provides for internships in the direction of training in public authorities / analytical centers / large specialized media / commercial structures.
